Tehya has been performing in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2003. Over the years, they have built a solid reputation, a very loyal fan base, and have been called a great fun band that keeps everybody on their feet & moving. Their music is diverse and covers Classic rock, R&B, Blues from the 1950's through today, making them a great choice for any party, club, or special event.

Not realizing that she could actually sing, she went on in the early 90's playing guitar or drums in several bands in California all along still trying to find her voice. When she finally opened up her mouth in an all female band that she put together the birth of "Tehya" emerged.

In search of something different in 2001, "Tehya" underwent changes and became a new band. She is thrilled to still be performing with such a solid classic rock group.

Fred Pena
Lead Guitar/Vocals, since 2002

Fred has a long history of music in the SF Bay Area, being an active member of bands such as Axis, Rage, and
founding member of Power Pob bands such as Tryx, Private Eye and also was an active member of the Pacifica based blues quartet the Freddy Boys.

Fred also co-owned LH Studios in Millbrae CA, where he ran a successful 16 track demo studio which included a modified Allen Heath 48 channel board with Neve preamps, recording various bands such as Garden Gate, Men in Motion, Addiction and Heavy Metal bands such as early version of Death Angel. He has been an active member of Tehya for over 10 years and loves this experience. He loves all styles of music and has some deep rooted country roots that sometimes poke through the sidewalk. His preference with Tehya as far as guitars are a hodgepodge of his Fenders or Fender like guitars, as he does most of his own work, occasionally you may see him wield a Gretsch, Jackson or Gibson Les Paul...and he still loves his trusty Fender Deluxe Reverbs Amps, Marshall amps and some classic Peavey tube amps...plus Fred loves Bettie Page......

Kevin Gardella
Percussionist/Back Up Vocals, since 2005

Born and raised in Redwood City, Ca. Kevin began playing drums at the age of 8.In addition to drums Kevin has played the Piano, Bass, Marimba, Vibes, and Mallet instruments. In the late 70's by the age of 16 he was playing professionally with Larry Carlton, and The Swindlers. During the 80's Kevin played with multiple
bands mainly The Phoenix Onsombo, and Scary Larry. In the 90's he played with the bands Off the Wall, and The Popsicle Love Sponge also known as PLS. He also played with Jerry Miller of the Mulberry Grape Band from Seattle during his time with PLS. Kevin performed as a studio musician recording an album with Renee' and The Sabore Band in early 2000.

Currently Kevin is keeping beat in the band Tehya, which he joined in 2005. Kevin is working to include some vocals looking for the opportunity to share his voice with Tehya fans.
